Maui - What We Like to Do

We usually get to the islands about once or twice a year, depending on work and money :-).  Uusally we like to go to Maui in Late winter but have gone over Thanksgiving, and like this time in summer.  No matter how many times we have been there we like to do a lot of the same things.

We always:

  • Hit the Saturday swap meet in Kahului, looking for gifts for our friends back home.
  • Buy Malasadas at Home Maid Bakery in Wailuku.
  • Grab lunch in Paia Town, then spend the afternoon at Hookipa Beach to watch the Wind surfers.
  • Visit Sherrie Reeves Gallery in Makawao.
  • Take a ride to the top of Haleakala, and along the way find a day hike.
  • Snorkel at Black Rock Beach by the Sheraton, in Kaanapali, then hit the shops for the day.
  • Eat dinner at Alexanders for fried or broiled fish and chips.
  • Eat breakfast at Kihei Caffe.
  • Eat out somewhere nice for dinner.
  • Hit the beach everyday.
  • If winter we take a Whale watching cruise.
  • Always start at Costco.
I'll talk about these fun things to do in future posts.

  1. We were just talking about malasadas the other day. Almost that time a year again.
